An update about Capay Valley Grown and this website!
We are very excited to announce that after a number of years of inactivity, community members and farm owners throughout the Capay Valley are working to resurrect this important program. Over the past year, we have hosted numerous events to connect people with local farms and educate them about the amazing products grown in the Capay Valley. Activity is currently underway to build a new website to be launched in early 2026. Please note that this website is no longer updated!
Capay Valley is a remarkable stretch of fertile land and rolling hills, home to a host of small and mid-size farms, natural wonders, and outstanding events. You can tour working farms—even pick your own crop at some—enjoy farm-to-fork dinners in the stunning countryside, go white-water rafting or hike in the verdant hills. While rich in history, Capay Valley also has a modern pulse, with wine-tasting, golf, and festivals to suit your fancy.
Capay Valley Grown launched in 2004 as a partnership among twenty-three farm and ranch charter partners that wanted to increase the marketability of their high quality products. The partners of Capay Valley Grown strive to sell a sense of place with their products: information that conveys value to end users while creating transparency about farmer, place, stewardship, and quality. Capay Valley Grown partners are exploring strategies to get as close to customers in Yolo County and Northern California as possible to maximize freshness, flavor, and consumer confidence.
Every farm listed here offers something special in its own right. Most are not open to the public on a regular basis— you are well advised to check the websites or call ahead before you make definite plans to visit. But do make your plans; there is no place quite like Capay Valley anywhere on Earth.
