Local teens compete for the Almond Queen crown. The event is generally scheduled for 7 p.m., the second Saturday of the month in the Guinda Grange Hall. The Rumsey Improvement Association is the primary sponsor of this event.
Members of the Western Yolo Grange prepare a dinner featuring grilled tri-tip and local vegetables.
After dinner, contestants take the stage and deliver a speech prepared on a topic such as: You are describing the Almond Festival to someone who has never been, but you can only use 5 words. Which 5 words would you use and how would those words showcase this Capay Valley tradition.
Adults- $25, Under 12- $15
